Many people think that getting rid of acne can seem hard, if not downright impossible.  Many people have tried many unsuccessful acne products to get rid of this bothersome problem.  However, you should be aware that it is possible to effectively treat acne once you understand how.

Let's start by quickly reviewing why most drug store acne products that are available over-the-counter just don't work.  You need to have a clear understanding of these reasons if you truly want to get rid of your acne.  It's unfortunate but many people waste lots of money on useless treatments.  You don't have to be one of them!

The problem with these products is that they only cover up or treat acne AFTER pimples have already appeared.  They simply act as a band-aid solution by trying to deal with one pimple at a time after you've already broken out.  They don't actually treat the actual cause of the problem.

For a true and lasting acne cure, you must use a treatment that actually treats the problem.  There are four main causes of zits, including an accumulation of oil on your skin, specific bacteria that leads to acne, skin irritation and inflammation, and clogged-up pores.  In order to effectively cure your acne, you need to target all of the causes.

You may be surprised at how quickly you can get rid of acne if you use the right products.  You may find it useful to read some acne treatment reviews.  In under a week, your skin will become clearer and healthier than you would have though possible.  It's a wonderful feeling when you actually see the results in the mirror.

Acne Free in 3 Days Review – Does Chris Gibson Natural Acne Guide Work?

Acne Free In 3 days is a popular natural acne treatment guide by Chris Gibson. It has certainly been discussed quite a bit in acne forums and majority of the acne free in 3 days reviews are good.

There are a lot of positive testimonials on his website so I decided to give it a try since they have a 60 day money back guarantee. If it does not work, I figure I can always ask for a refund.

So does Acne Free In 3 Days Work?

Before I tell whether Chris´s acne guide works or not, let me tell you my first impression of the book. The acne guide is about 60 pages which is pretty short considering some of the other acne books I have read were several hundred pages.

However, the volume of the book doesn´t really matter to me as long as the information is good. The basic premise of Acne Free In 3 Days is that you go on a 3 day detox diet program.

Chris does a good job of describing in detail how to go about the 3 day detox diet program and why it works so well. I was a little skeptical as well but decided to follow his instructions since it only takes 3 days to see results.

Another thing about his guide is that the ingredients used are common items you can find in your grocery store and does not cost a lot of money. He also recommends some acne products that you can use to get better results with your acne problems but nevertheless, they are not essential in the 3 day acne free detox program.

So what are my results? Well, my acne seems to have cleared up a bit but it did not take 3 days as stated. Rather it took about 5 days for me but nevertheless, I have to say his acne treatment methods do work.

Although it worked well for me, I would not be as sure that it would work for you since each individual skin condition and acne problem are different. However, there is no harm giving it a try.

Are there any disadvantages to Acne Free In 3 Days?

I would like to see Chris give more information on how to maintain acne free after the 3 day detox program. That was lacking in information and it will certainly benefit a lot of people who don´t have a clue what to do after the 3 day detox diet program.

Nevertheless, the methods outlined in his guide do work.

Skin Care and Acne

Acne is defined as a diseased condition of the skin that involves the hair and oil glands. Acne is characterised with black heads, white heads, pimples, cysts and reddishness. Facial acne can spoil your appearance and body acne can make you very uncomfortable. Believing acne is a minor issue, a lot of people totally discard acne skin care. However, the importance of ‘Acne skin care’ cannot be undermined in any way.

Acne skin care should really start before the acne actually appears and much of your care can begin with an acne home treatment for your skin. Acne skin care is about being proactive rather than reactive. Having acne skin to care for involves being aware of preventive measures. Your acne skin care routine will involve following a daily skin care regemine with complete devotion.  So let’s have a look at how ‘acne skin care’ can be applied to our daily routine.

Cleanliness is the most basic beginning for your acne skin care routine. One of the best ways of keeping the skin clean is by taking morning showers. In fact, a lot of people take night showers too (that not only helps in keeping your skin clean but also provides relaxation to your body and enables a good sleep). If you are living in a hot and/or humid place, a night shower becomes a must. A shower is highly recommended if you have participated in any high level activities that cause sweat to develop. It is an effective skin care technique.

Caring for acne is definitely about more then taking showers to be clean. Acne skin care is also about wearing clean clothes and sleeping on clean pillows. Too tight of clothes can cause you to sweat, so wear soft, comfortable cotton clothes, especially if you have an acne breakout. In the same vain, "acne skin care" emphasizes regular cleansing of your cosmetic brush and any items you may be using on your body.

Besides that, you should also use a mild, water-soluble, oil-free and soap-free cleanser for keeping your face, neck and arms clean. In any acne skin care routine, cleansing is the most important part. Cleaners are the easiest and the most effective way of removing dirt, grease, pollutants and excess oil from your skin; thus reducing the probability of acne  occurrence. It is also recommended to remove your make up using a make up remover as part of your acne skin care routine.

If you already have acne, do not try to touch them or squeeze them; it can lead to permanent scars. Acne skin care involves gently cleaning the affected area utilizing a clean, soft cotton pad and an over-the-counter acne cleanser. There are a lot of acne skin care products you can buy over the counter, a lot of which are actually cleansers. But, if this skin care for acne advise doesn't provide you the desire results you can get advice on other acne home treatments for your acne prone skin.

Psychodermatology - Acne and Stress Connection

You've probably wondered about the link between breakouts and stress.Doesn't it always seem like you get more breakouts when you're really stressed out?  There is a scientific reason behind it.Cortisol, a stress hormone, triggers the increased production of sebum which creates more oily skin.  The excessive sebum can cause more breakouts: pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts in acne prone skin.  So how do you learn how to relax and get your stress levels and skin under control? Many long-term skin conditions can benefit from psychodermatology.

The link between psychology and the skin is an interesting one."Psychodermatology", is a fairly new term.  While this isn't an official medical field, it studies the link between body and mind, and in particular, the effects of the mind and stress levels and impacts on your skin.  "A psychodermatologic disorder is a condition that involves an interaction between the mind and the skin," says American Family Physician Journal.

Ok, so we know stress can show up in your skin.So what can you do about it?Relaxation techniques, as well as psychotherapy, are some of the ideas used in psychodermatology.  There is even a book about it, Skin Deep: A Mind/Body Program for Healthy Skin.Resolving root issues that are causing stress is one of the goals of the book. The book was authored by Grossbart and Sherman, a clinical psychologist and medical science writer, respectively.  The book explores the mind and body link, and offers several techniques that include relaxation, imaging, hypnosis, and psychotherapy to help address root causes on long-term skin problems.

While psychodermatology treatment is most often used to treat eczema and psoriasis, the techniques will definitely help manage your stress levels to help acne prone skin, as well.  If you don't want to see a trained psychodermatologist, or get the book, you can do your own experiment.  Start taking yoga classes, or try some meditation tapes or DVDs.See if your skin improves when you incorporate relaxation techniques into your regular routine.Managing stress is a good goal for both your body and your mind, and you are likely to feel better.

The next time you know a stressful event is coming, like a big exam, wedding, or job interview, don't sit back and wait in fear for another massive breakout--do something about it.  Try to learn how to relax and you could possibly short circuit the stress/skin reaction.

Diet and Acne

People with acne try to treat their irritated skin with soaps, face washes, lotions and treatments. The best way to treat acne is by changing how you eat and by getting rid of acne causing ingredients such as fried foods.

A diet rich in natural fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains is the treatment for helping acne. Foods containing trans-fatty acids like mile, margarine, shortening, milk products, fried foods and synthetically hydrogenated vegetable oils should be avoided.

It seems the prevalence of acne in the United States is built into the typical American diet. Americans tend to eat fried foods in large quantities, usually cooked in the most harmful of fats and oils. No all fats are bad, however typical Americans who eat foods such as ice cream, cheese, bacon, and milk containing the fats that are bad tend to be more prone to developing acne and skin problems.

Acne cannot really be treated using creams and soaps because the root of the condition lies beneath the skin. Pimples and blemishes are caused by bacteria and other irritants embedded underneath the skin's oil glands and hair follicles, which are generally caused as a result of improper hygiene and poor diet – such as too much processed, fatty, fried and sugary foods.

A skin healthy diet will include raw and steamed vegetables, particularly green leafy vegetables the are rich in fiber and have valuable trace minerals. Fresh greens are essential. Also include lean protein sources and complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, whole-grain bread, and potatoes in your diet. Fiber rich foods help to ensure a clean gastrointestinal tract, this is particularly important in the treatment of acne. Eat three meals a day which provide critical nutrients and decrease your appetite for sweet sugary or greasy fried foods.Foods which are rich in Vitamin A such as apricots, watermelon and broccoli, as well as foods which are rich in zinc such as lean beef, nuts, beans and whole grains can help acne breakouts.Drinking a lot of water is also imperative to assist in flushing the toxins that contribute to breakouts.

4 Tips For Curing Acne Naturally

Personally, I hate using acne medications and I'm willing to bet that you do too. Most of them dry your skin out and cause your skin to turn red. Some of those big name medications you hear about have even worse side effects. Some can even cause hair lose. I don't know about you, but I like my hair just the way it is right now. The good news is that you can treat acne naturally.

The Main Cause Of Acne

One of the main causes of acne is a build up of toxins inside your body. Your body will attempt to remove those toxins from your body. Just one of the ways your body will get rid toxins from your body is from the skin. For some people this comes out of your skin as acne. It could also come out of your body in other ways. It all depends on the person.

Use Natural Skin Care Products

Natural skin care products are a must. Lots of these skin care products put toxins into your body. Too many skin care products have lots of chemicals in them that will go straight into your pores. Shampoos, hair gels, and hair sprays can do this too. You need to find products that truly are natural. Do not take their word for it. Look to see what sort of ingredients are found in particular products.

Kill The Sugar

Almost all of us have a bit of sweat tooth in us. If you like sweats then your sweat tooth will need to be under control. This isn't just because sugar is bad for you and because too much of it can make you fat. Sugar clogs up your digestive system and it can create more greasy looking skin. We all know what oily skin leads too. Keep your sugar intake to a minimum. Just treat yourself to something like once and awhile.

Reduce Your Caffeine Intake

Caffeine is a great way to mess with your hormones. You better make sure you avoide drinking coffee and eating too much chocolate. Another problem with caffeine is that it can effect your sleeping habits. A good night sleep is very important for keeping your acne away. The main hormone that caffeine triggers is your stress hormone. That is big problem because stress can cause acne.

As you can tell there is allot to this hole acne skin care thing. If you follow some of the advice I have given here you should see some good results.

However the problem can also strike in midlife.  Whenever it starts, it's hard to overestimate the importance of finding good acne treatment.

Skin care is adjusted depending on the severity of the situation and the underlying cause.

In general acne starts when skin glands overproduce sebum (the compound that makes oily skin oily).  That gives a person too much oil on the skin which will then catches more surface dirt.

The dirt and debris which accumulates in the pores will block these and causes in inflammation.  That's what causes acne.

What Leads To Acne?

Genetic structure to some extent defines whether a person is predisposed to acne or not.

Someone with whose family members struggle with with acne are more prone to acne than someone without that family history.

The hormonal swings of puberty and menstruation are also factors that contribute to acne.

Bacteria afflict many individuals.

What you eat absolutely affects skin health as well.

Of course, what you do for your skin and which skin care products you use makes a tremendous difference.

Once problems begin, the correct care will change depending on what started the acne in the first place.

Unfortunately, some people will suffer from permanent scars as a result of persistant problems with.

A major goal of acne treatment is to reduce the possibility of scars and marks that can mar the skin in the future. Since most acne problems are time-limited for most people, proper acne treatment prevents scaring.

Acne care may include prescription medications or surface solutions that will eliminate the irritation of the skin.

The bacteria that are often behind ongoing skin problems can also be eliminated with antibiotics and other treatments that can kill them.

Taking good care of your skin is another important aspect of treatment and is an absolute must for any acne care plan.  For minor problems, that alone may clear things up.

A very effective acne treatment for mild to moderate outbreaks of acne is the use of topical benzoyl peroxide.

This surface treatment is often combined with the use of various types of antibacterial compounds.

More severe cases may need treatment with antibiotics. Of course these require a doctor's prescription and aren't right for everyone.

As they make a point of saying at Best Acne Answers.all of these should be accompanied by  right skin cleansing.

Good acne treatment builds self confidence and self esteem.  Getting rid of acne makes anyone more comfortable in social situations.  Individuals who suffer from severe and recurring skin flare ups are often understandably self conscious about their appearance.

Early acne treatment and, even better, acne prevention reduce the possibility of someone becoming meek and shy and avoiding social situations.  It also prevents the chance of permanent scars.

I've found a great site with reliable information on all aspects of acne and it's treatment. Be sure to check out Best Acne Answers.

Acne Scars Can Be Treated From Home!

You don't need to look any further. The information that you have been looking for with regards to home-based acne scar treatment is right here in this article.

When we get acne many times it resolves without getting infected. Hyper pigmentation that fades over time is often a result of this kind of acne. When acne becomes infected, it spreads deeper inside and damages the collagen in the dermal layer. As the inflammation increases, more of skin tissues are killed and when the acne gets treated, it leaves a scar, which is normally a deep scar. The depth depends upon the damage done by acne, which depends upon it's severity.

If the scar is deep, you may have to get deep or medium depth chemical peeling done. Both laser as well as dermabrasion treatments have become accessible and powerful.

Additionally, you can now purchase Zenmed Scar Treatment Kit for effective home-based microdermabrasion treatments.

It is your doctor’s job to see how he plans to remove these deep scars as it might require fillers to fill the scarred skin. Superficial peeling with tretinoin can be performed at home if the scar is not too deep.

Tretinoin peels the upper layer of the epidermis. Re-application will make surface scarring less apparent. You've the choice of utilising an over-the-counter solution or a prescription solution. Please consult your doctor about that. Tretinoin gets rid of stagnant epidermis cells, age lines along with blemishes and treat tissues that have become mildy blemished by scars.

5 Proactive Acne Treatments For Adults With Pimples

Whereas acne is often thought of as a teenage condition, approximately half of all adults also find themselves dealing with the troublesome skin disease.  Many individuals suffer in silence and embarrassment as they believe that they should have "grown out of it".

The medical profession is not entirely sure what causes acne, or indeed that there is even a cause which applies to all sufferers.  This makes it hard to treat and thus you will find several "cures" available for sale both over the counter and by prescription.  However, these treatments will often not work for adult acne sufferers, because they are formulated for the specific form of comedonal acne which the majority of teenagers have to deal with.

In their place, the best acne cures for adult sufferers are provided by nature herself and, if you can stop the cause of your acne, then you can considerably lower the number of both breakouts and pimples you have. Here are 5 secrets for treating your adult acne.

1. Lessen your level of stress!  Adults have to deal with stress on a day to day basis, whether it is through their job, at home with the kids or from some other source and stress is generally thought to be one of the main causes of stress in adults. If you are able to find a way to relax or eliminate your main stressors you will almost certainly experience a lessening of the number of acne breakouts that afflict you.

2. Get some sleep!  Many adults have very busy lives and do not get enough sleep to recuperate from their active days. Try to get at least seven or eight hours sleep each night and you ought to see your acne breakouts improve.

3. Drinks lots of water! If you are running around between work, school and home you could be getting dehydrated without even knowing it. Carry a water bottle with you and try to ensure that you drink at least ten glasses each day. Water helps to flush your body of the impurities that cause acne.

4. Apply honey to a breakout!  While it can be a little bit messy, applying honey to your pimples can help to dry them out faster. Be sure to wash it off in the morning when you wake up with a gentle cleanser or with acne soap or perhaps a goat's milk soap acne preparation.

5. Take care over your diet! Diet can frequently be a significant reason for adult acne problems. Meat has a thermal effect that can exacerbate acne breakouts.  Chocolate is another big offender for some people. Lastly, fried food can also increase the number and intensity of acne breakouts. Stay away from these foods therefore if you find that you are getting numerous acne breakouts.

So what can I eat to get rid of acne? Increasing your intake of vegetables and fruits can help to lessen your acne breakouts and also provide you with the vitamins which you may otherwise be missing out on.  A few adult sufferers also place great weight on the part played by a detoxifying cleanse for clearing pimples.

None of these treatments is very complicated and neither do they mean having to buy expensive acne skin products. Not only is picking a natural pimple treatment a good way to help your breakouts but it can help your budget as well!

Back Acne And What Can Be Done To Treat It

Acne is a very common problem for both teenagers and adults and the most common perception of the condition is that it breaks out on the face. However, if you suffer from acne you know only too well that it can appear in other places as well like the back and the chest.

Although chest and back acne is not so obvious to the outside observer it can nevertheless be extremely annoying for those suffering from it. Unfortunately, back and chest acne is usually harder to treat than the acne that you have on your face and the traditional cleaners and treatments that you purchase for the treatment of facial acne are normally less effective when it comes to back acne treatment. As if this were not bad enough, as your back and chest are often covered by clothing, you can experience more irritation from the rubbing of material against your pimples.

Just as you do with your facial acne you will need a daily treatment regimen for your back acne and most common regimens will include a cleanser followed by a moisturizer. Generally, it is of course more difficult to put medication on your back acne because of where it is located and so you may need the help of a family member or to use a special applicator.

You must watch the type of clothing that you wear. Tight-fitting shirts or rough material can rub against your skin and irritate your acne leading to increasing oil production and therefore more breakouts. You must also be careful about the type of washing powder and fabric softener you use. Sometimes these will irritate back acne and so you may need to try different brands or even a fragrance and dye free variety.

Also, watch out if you carry anything on you back. For young people in school, and for those individuals who do a lot of backpacking and hiking, backpacks can make back acne very noticeably worse. If you are seeing a rise in the number of acne breakouts you may need to stop carrying a backpack for a while. If this causes a problem then you might find that a shoulder bag helps until your acne subsides.

Your doctor or dermatologist can be a great help with both diagnosis and treatment of back acne and can begin by determining how bad your acne is and also assessing your skin type. For example, whether your skin is dry or oily or what is referred to as a combination skin plays an important part deciding upon the best course of treatment. Your doctor will also need to hear a history of your acne condition, covering things like how long you have suffered from acne and how often breakouts happen.  Armed with this information she will be able to determine the best course of treatment and the best acne medicine to deal with your specific case of acne.

Are You Having Difficulties Locating A Good Treatment For Your Acne?

Every day many thousands of individuals call into a drugstore looking for an over the counter solution for their acne. In the drugstore they are confronted by numerous acne skin products to choose from and it can be hard to know just where to start. So, let's look at the commonest types of acne treatment.

Many millions of individuals suffer from acne and it does not care what race you are, what your gender is or hold old you are. This means than many acne researchers are in quite a quandary when finding a cure which will work on everybody. Indeed they have yet to discover one so trying to select an acne treatment for the huge variety available often leaves acne sufferers standing in an aisle in the drug store scratching their heads.

In order to pick an acne solution it is useful to have some background information on exactly what acne is and what causes it, as well as information about your specific type of acne. You ought to think about visiting your dermatologist or doctor to discover what they recommend by way of treatment. Often this will be better than randomly picking an over the counter solution that you are uncertain about.

In order to pick the best acne medication for you you have to know that there are essentially two approaches that you can choose from to help control your acne. The two most widely marketed product groups contain either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and although both are designed to treat acne they work in quite different ways. For example, benzoyl peroxide works as an antibacterial killing off the bacteria which are known to cause spots while salicylic acid acts to exfoliate the hair follicle helping to prevent clogging of the hair follicles that can result in acne. Both of these treatments will react with your skin differently so it may be helpful to consult your doctor or dermatologist before beginning to use one or the other.

When you call in at a drug store you will also see acne kits. These are merely conveniently packaged sets of products which can help to fight and control your acne. Normally, they include a face cleanser, a topical cream or gel and a lotion which helps with irritation and stops your skin from drying out. In most cases the active ingredient of these products is salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, together with other acne fighting products.

No matter what you purchase it is important to remember that you should only use an acne cream treatment as directed. If, having tried your selected treatment for a reasonable period of time it not working satisfactorily then it might be time to return to your dermatologist to look again at what you are using. Occasionally, it will take a number of different treatments to find one which works for you and your particular acne problem.

Allot of the products on the market have chemical in them that will do your body no good at all. You should stay with products that feature more natural ingredients and few chemicals. You will most likely have to test a few different products.

You should stop eating any foods that are loaded with sugar. These foods often clog up your body from being able to remove waste the way that it is meant too. Dairy foods is another problem for many people. Calcium is good for you, but dairy doesn't get along well with most people. Another ingredient you should avoid is caffeine. Something else that should be avoided is greasy foods and fried foods.

With all this being said, there are still many tasty foods you can eat. Many of the best foods are fruits and vegetables. You would be surprised what you can do with just those if you get creative. For meat you really can't beat fish. It is by far and away the best meat you can eat. Of course you be careful of pollution in the fish.

Best Acne Scar Treatment Options

If you have had cyctic acne or severe acne blemishes, you probably have some scars as a result. There are many treatments for acne scarring that can help you address the problem. It's best to consult with a dermatologist or experienced physician to identify your best treatment option.

Microdermabrasion
This treatment is usually done in a series, over a period of weeks to produce the best results.  Micro fine abrasive particles of aluminum oxide are used to smooth the surface layers of skin.  Think of it as a strong exfoliation treatment that removes the top layer of skin. This improves mild scars and discoloration, but may not offer much improvement for deep scars.Keep in mind that if you have darker skin or suffer from hyper pigmentation, this may leave you with some patchy discoloration, so talk to your doctor to be sure you understand any risks and side effects.

Photorejuvenation
This treatment is better used for treating discoloration than for deep scarring, but it can restore a smoother complexion, and has very little side effects.  Intense pulsed light (IPL) is used to treat individual lesions and discolored marks

Collagen Injections and Autologous Fat Transfer
Collagen injections can plump out and fill in the surface of scars to make them smoother.Fat is often transplanted from one part of the body, then injected into the scar tissue.  Each of these treatment options is temporary, lasting from a few months to a year

Acne Laser Treatment
The right laser treatment will depend on your type of skin and the severity of scarring.Over the past several years, there have been many improvements in laser technology for skin care. This typically provides great results for most acne scars, with the exception of the deepest ones.

Surgery for Acne
Acne surgery can help with the very deep scars that otherwise don't respond as well to other treatment options.  The scar can be removed in a "punch" technique, where the skin around the scar is punched out and then sutured back together so it can heal cleanly and smoothly.Subcision is another common scar treatment.  A needle is inserted under the scar and the fibrous bands of scar tissue are cut and released. The skin surface generally appears more smooth in appearance following the healing process.

All Natural Acne Remedies That Work

Pimples affect both men and women, though it tends to be more problematic for teenage boys more than girls. There are various issues associated with the development of acne, which include poor hygiene, changes in hormone levels, excessive secretion of sebum, and the sort of food eaten by the individual. An acne remedy can be made up of many different and even unusual things. Some of the home remedies for acne can be outright painful to apply while others have the gentle reassurance of grandma.

Herbs As A Home Remedy For Acne

Herbs are one of the first things that many look to for home remedies. The reason why these are usually thought of as a natural acne cure, is because herbs have been used in many cultures to cure and treat many disparate problems in people. Some of the more common herbs for an acne natural treatment are tea tree oil and stinging nettle tea. Tea tree oil is sometimes directly applied on the face as an acne natural cure. Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties that are helpful in getting rid of the bacteria that are involved in the spread of acne in the face.

Nettle tea is not usually applied to the skin, but is used as an internal remedy for acne. Many herbal experts recommend drinking at least four cups of nettle tea every day, not only as a home acne treatment, but also to cure other skin conditions that could be affecting you. Other herbs, as illustrated by the many acne articles around, that may be effective as home remedies include calendua flowers' extract, burdock leaf tea, rose water, the application of wet basil leaves and many others.

Additional Acne Home Remedies

Other acne home remedies that are floating around - but may or may not get rid of acne - are toothpaste applied to pimples before going to bed, washing your face with vinegar, applying a solution of water and lemon juice, and many others. Keep in mind that some home acne remedies may not be as effective as others believe they are.
